Cabinet of Curiousities

is a home designed for a children's book author, his wife, helper and 2 young children. The design entailed a complete overhaul of an existing 30 year old flat to accommodate 4 bedrooms and a study while visually maintaining an expanse of space for the shared areas.

Concept:

Taking into consideration the need for ample storage, the spatial design is organised by 2 contrasting carpentry finishes - the light oak built in which marks the children's wing of the home and the dark walnut built in which marks the parent's wing. Subtle curved walls and carpentry edges accentuate the flow of spaces into one another.
